Three months after planning out the new features and sheet template, the new version of the Auto Negative Keywords Script is ready. It's also now free!
I'll get into the upgrades, but a quick refresher on what it does:
It's perfect for Search (Inc. DSA) and Shopping Ads and keeping their Search Terms relevant, automatically.
You define "keywords". Search terms which don't contain those keywords will be negated.
For example, if you sell dog toys you might want to add "dog", "toy", "ball", etc. as keywords. Then you can say you want 2 (number of matches) or those keywords to be present. So "dog toy" is ok, "dog collar" or "cat toy" are not.
I've created a rule checker so you can see how it works before installing the script + confirm your rules.
The Upgrades
Approx Match
Approx match loosens things up to an extent (threshold) you decide. This is designed to catch typos, awry spaces, etc. "bestdogt iys" and "puppie t oys" are probably fine. Use the rule checker to play around with the threshold and test examples.
Campaign Level Support
This was a separate script before. Now you can define rules at campaign and ad group level in the same script. Note it's also possible to pull account-level search terms and add negatives to lists (still add a campaign name though).
Output Sheets
When enabled, an output sheet will be created with your results (or would be results in preview mode).
